Our audit evaluates how well a school or youth-serving organization fosters student and staff success.
Grounded in motivation theory, we help organizations identify how policies, programs, and strategies - inside and outside the classroom - support needs for relatedness, competency, and autonomy. When the learning environment meet these needs for students and staff, they promote well-being, engagement, and success.

Motivational climate surveys for students and staff.
Our surveys identify rates of well-being and the extent to which the organizational environment meets needs for learning, motivation, and well-being.

Interviews and/or focus groups with leadership, teachers, staff, and students. Qualitative data clarifies themes identified
in the surveys and helps determine actionable steps forward.

Review of school materials and data. The documents and data we review depend on the audit's goal.

Fig’s student and staff surveys?
​School climate is significantly correlated with student academic success. Surveys that measure school climate can guide continuous improvement in schools, but they do not always measure what research identifies as best supporting student learning and teacher success.

​Our proprietary student and staff surveys are not your typical school climate surveys! We use motivation theory to understand student and staff perception of how well the organizational climate meets learning and well-being needs. When a person perceives that psychological needs are met, they experience well-being, engagement, and success.


Why it's important to consider whole-school well-being
Well-being has two primary components: hedonia, the feeling of satisfaction, and eudaimonia, a sense of purpose. The foundation of good physical and mental health, well-being is associated with school engagement and academic and professional success.
