What drives my work?
I am an educator and researcher driven by the desire to create equitable and transformative educational opportunities for all learners. I believe education thrives when it fosters personal agency, curiosity, and lifelong learning. My work focuses on initiatives that empower students through innovative educational approaches, particularly in Self-Directed Education, microschools, and research-practice partnerships. I am passionate about improving outcomes for all students.

What is my experience?
I have experience in education research and program evaluation, with a focus on critical methodologies and diverse evaluation strategies. At Virginia Commonwealth University, I collaborate on projects ranging from mentoring in higher education to program evaluations for K-12 STEM initiatives and alternative education programs. My over ten years as a K-12 science educator and department leader shaped my practitioner-oriented approach to evaluation. I have also worked on community-driven education models, applying innovative solutions to reimagine learning experiences.

What is my education?
I am working towards a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Research, Assessment, and Evaluation from Virginia Commonwealth University. I also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Science Education) and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science, both from the University of Virginia.
