What drives my work?
Inspired by experiences as a mom of three children with disabilities, I have made it my life’s work to support individuals with disabilities and their families. I do this by conducting special education research and conveying it in ways that reach families where they are at.

What is my experience?
I wear two hats – nonprofit operations and special educator. I am a seasoned leader in nonprofit
operations. I was formerly the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget and Fiscal Services at the University
of Washington Bothell and Director of Operations at the Center on Reinventing Public Education. From 2018 to 2022, I was adjunct faculty at the University of Northern Colorado and a Senior Research Analyst at the Center on Reinventing Public Education. I am currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Special Education at the University of Idaho. I also lead my own nonprofit, Lane of Inquiry, and am actively involved in the disability community.

What is my education?
I have a BA in Economics from the University of Washington, an MA in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, and a PhD in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
