Staff lead school improvement
The organization
A tuition-free, K-8 independent school fully relies on fundraising to serve students living in a neighborhood with few high-quality school options.

Goal
School leadership wanted to identify where they could improve, particularly for their classroom teachers and non-instructional staff. The close-knit and mission-driven staff often work long hours. Leadership wanted to make sure staff felt they were receiving the support they needed.
Process
Fig administered the Student and Staff Thriving Surveys, conducted student and staff focus groups, and reviewed school materials.
Outcomes
Following a report for staff and teachers, the school created a staff-led Wellbeing Committee. The Committee meets monthly to design and implement initiatives to improve staff and teacher wellbeing. The school implemented a second round of adult surveys the following year to gather information for further improvement efforts.
